What is EFT Tapping?
EFT Tapping is a powerful, yet simple and effective, self help technique. It allows the release and integration of feelings and emotions in a safe and empowering way. Using a combination of talk therapy and acupressure points, it directly influences the body's automatic defence response. It's an exceptional tool for addressing trauma, limiting beliefs, and creating emotional freedom. The technique can be used anytime, anywhere, by anyone. I especially love Tapping with my young daughter. We practice daily to support sleep, anxiety, confidence, pain, etc.

How does Tapping Work?

EFT Tapping, otherwise known as Emotional Freedom Techniques, was developed in the 1990’s. The technique shot to the forefront of the rapidly advancing world of energy psychology in the last decade. Clinical studies show that EFT Tapping is a powerful tool to address fear, stress, anxiety, pain, depression, trauma, PTSD and other conditions. It’s an evidence-based method that produces measurable results and desired health outcomes. Creating a consistent Tapping practice is the key to getting the results you desire.
You tap on the body's energy meridian points with the fingertips following a sequence. The tapping points, in sequence, are as follows:
-
Side of the hand (Karate Chop) - between the wrist and the bottom knuckle on the pinky finger.
-
Top of the head - directly in the centre of the top of the head.
-
Eyebrow - the beginning of the brow, just above and to the side of the nose.
-
Side of the eye - on the bone at the outside corner of the eye.
-
Under the eye - on the bone under the eye, approximately 1 inch below the pupil.
-
Under the nose - the point between the nose and upper lip.
-
Chin point - halfway between the underside of the lower lip and the bottom of the chin.
-
Beginning of the collarbone - the point where the breastbone (sternum), collarbone, and first rib intersect.
-
Under the arm - at the side of the body, approximately 4 in below the armpit.
-
Under the chest - about three inches below the nipple, just below where the breast connects with the chest/ribs in women.
